Production blog

 My first goal in my production is to pick which photos I will be using. I am going to use 1 image for each section. My sections are Barnes and Noble, music, and movies. I believe these pics are some of the most unique parts of my life or niche hobbies that I have. My first photo is about Barnes and Noble, which is me with my ipad, friends, and drink. This photo means a lot to me because my friends who I go to B&N with friends don't go to my high school. It's always fun to hang out with friends I rarely see. Me and my friends might talk to each other more than we do our work, but I would still consider our outing productive. My second photo is of my record player and my vinyl records on my desk. I really love music, and the album on top is my newest record, which is deluxe to Tyler, the creator's album "Call Me If You Get Lost." I also like having a record player because I love how it works, and it gives me something physical to collect. Even though it's taking me a minute to collect all the albums I love, I still like having it as something I do. My third photo is a picture of me and my friends at the movies watching Barbie during the summer. The picture is of the Warner Bros logo, and I love that they changed their logo to match the movie theme. A24 also does the same thing, which is why I love them as well and also because of the great movies they put out. Going to the movies is probably one of my favorite things to do with my friends. I also have a designated friend who I go to the movies very often with when we see something coming out that we both want to see. We haven't gone to the movies alone in a while because we have been going out as a group, which I don't mind either because the more, the merrier. This has summed up all of the pictures that I will be using for my video. I will begin my production now that I know what my first part will be about.

  1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?  My friends and I chose to defy genre traditions for our music video. During the research process, I looked at various rap songs' music videos, specifically those by the same artist (Tyler, The Creator). Because Tyler, the Creator, is such a well-known artist, my initial assumption was that I could base our music video on his general themes. Tyler has a very unique way of producing music videos with surprising outfits and outlandish setups. For example, in the music video “See You Again” Tyler has a set on a naval ship and a small boat at sea, so the idea of trying to make our video similar to Tyler’s music videos was abandoned. That would ultimately be unattainable for my group. We didn't have any money to spend on costumes, sets, or activities. This is why we decided to focus on the fundamentals of our relationships. Reviewer #1 The first reviewer praised the foreshadowing at the start of the sequence, when the kidnapper is visible in the distance behind Jasmine. She also enjoyed the scenario with the empty swing, which led to the kidnapping. However, she admitted that she didn't really get the concept of Jasmine's revenge in the last scene. I believe this is due to our decision not to have Imani hold a knife in that scenario for safety reasons. I don't think we'll solve it, but we'll compensate with voiceover.  Reviewer #2 The second reviewer said they enjoyed the entire movie. They did not suggest any specific improvements. However, they noted that the second part of the sequence appeared to be a little off. They said it was more unprofessional than the first. Reviewer #3 The third critic stated that they loved the actors' facial expressions. They did express a desire to hear additional diegetic sound throughout the sequence to break up the music played.
