Production blog: editing

Image
I made the decision to modify using Cap Cut. I had to listen to the song on repeat a few times to know what I wanted to add. I started by adding my clips. Since we were conversing in the background and I didn't want the music to interfere with that, I just muted them all. I then matched every clip of film we had to the corresponding section of the song. To be honest, I took a different turn than I had planned. I didn't follow the storyboard's arrangement because, as I discovered, it only matched our conception of how we wanted it to appear—not at all. Fortuitously, I captured Nijah hanging outside the sunroof for approximately two minutes. Thus, the scene would change to "sunroof" each time the audio said it. I employed simple transitions. Though I wasn't sure, I knew I wanted to contribute more. I questioned my group, and they all said it looked good, but they would like me to silence the swearing on the embedded audio and make better transitions. I tried ad

production blog: filming

We started filming again! We were going to go to this park near the school. So we were shooting scenes on the swing and on the grass. We shot scenes in the on the swing with someone laughing. We also shot scenes outside on the grass with some of us laughing. I loved the scene where my friends are laughing on the grass. We actual did not end up liking the chick fil a scenes.  We felt like none of us looked really good in it. We just used park and car scenes. It made us a little sad. Even though we didn't use the place we planned, everything still worked out fine. We laughed and had fun. After we finished filming, we also hung out. We went to my house to hang out for a little again. We had lots of fun there too. We finished filming in about 2 hours. I thought filming would take longer. Since we had extra time that's why we decided to chill after. We finished all our filming. Even though everything didn't go as planned we still made it work. Hopefully, you love the music vide

We started filming! We were going to go to this plaza in Diana Point, but the place we were going was closed. So we went to this other plaza we knew to film. We shot scenes in the car with someone record while I was driving. We also shot scenes outside the car with someone on top. I loved the scene where my friend is out the window. After, we went to Chick-fil-A to film more scenes. We had to film at Chick-fil-A due to the ice cream place we were going to go to being closed. We went earlier in the day to film. It made sense why they were closed. Even though we didn't go to the place we planned, everything still worked out fine. We ate and had fun. After we finished filming, we also hung out. We went to my house to hang out for a little. We had lots of fun there too. We finished filming in about 2 hours. I thought filming would take longer. Since we had extra time that's why we decided to chill after. We still have one more film day to go. Even though everything didn't go a

Before we start filming, we had to decide when. We chose to film on the weekends. We chose that because we are all very busy people. We do lots of extracurriculars and have jobs so weekends work best. We do have afterschool as backup days if needed. We picked Diana Point for our location to film. Diana Point is a plaza that is in our area. The Plaza isn't too far from us so it was a great pick. We also picked it because it has many places such as a big parking lot so we can film one of our scenes. The plaza also has places for us to film our other scenes, such as bowling and ice cream. This will be fun and we can be productive. For our outfits, we are dressing casually. Due to the fact the music video is about friends hanging out, we don't have a need to dress up. We also aren't going anywhere fancy for the video. We all dress pretty similar to each other. We should wear jeans and a shirt or jacket. One of our friends is a little more dressy, so they could wear a sundress o

I am really excited to start this new project! This is my first time blogging about it, and I can't wait to get into all the details. First, we had to decide what each person was doing, which was a little hard. A particular member of our group wanted to be included more. Even though this person agreed to just film and edit. They felt a little left out which I can completely understand due to the music video being about friends. I would feel the same way because we aren't just groupmates. We are friends outside of this project. We ended up coming up with a solution. The solution is that we change whose filming from time to time so that everyone is included. I liked this solution because no one will be left out. I rarely run into hiccups like this when I work with people. I was glad to see that would resolve the issue and keep on moving forward. Another smaller issue we ran into was when we would start our first shoot. We couldn't decide on a day which was hard. We each do l

Storyboard blog

Image
Hi! For our music video, we needed to create a plan which is why we created a story board. In scene 1, we will be recorded from the backseat… so you’ll be able to see the back of the driver and passengers head, singing the song two seater by Tyler the creator at 3:47. At that time the song goes “can you roll my window up”. In scene 2, at 3:53 they’re still arguing about the window being down and she says “because it’s windy” etc. still recorded from the same angle. In scene 3, then at 3:59 of the song he says “but I love when your hair blows” and the video will be shot from her passenger seat window. She’s smiling as they ride down the road. In scene 4, 4:05 it shows the same thing… her smiling and staring out of the window but it will be from a different angle. In scene 5, the group (Nijah, Callie, Imani) will be playing at the park while Adrian (Camera Man) records us. There will be no dialogue here only the song playing in the background. In scene 6, 4:17 still no dialogue but a di

Introduction to the Music Video

Image
Hi! I am done with the first project and it's time for the next. I really did enjoy the first one and it was fun. To introduce myself again, my name is Callie Brown. I am a junior at Fort Lauderdale High School in the Cambridge program. I love hanging out with friends and going to Barnes and Noble. Barnes and Noble is one of my favorite places because I work better in workspaces. I love hanging out with friends because it is a way to destress after doing lots of schoolwork. I took Aice media studies because I love movies. Watching movies is one of my favorite hobbies, and Jordan Peele is my favorite director. My favorite film distributor is A24 because my favorite movies are from them, such as Waves, Moonlight, and Mid90s. A24 produces the best movies for me because they are all so deep and have a significant meaning. Another reason I took this class is because of the high passing rate, thanks to our great teachers.  I also love listening to music because it fits every feeling, an

Group blog

For this project, my group mates are Adrian Forbes, Nijah Sarduy, and Imani Hart. I chose these people as my group mates because they are my friends. Even though they are my friends, I also picked them because they are hard-working. We will be having fun, but we will also stay on task to get our work done. I think it's also easier to communicate because we already have each other's numbers. This will also help the video get done faster due to the multiple hands working on it. I also know these people won't stop working with us and will pick up their part. I enjoy talking and collaborating with these people in other subjects so I feel it would be the same for this project. We have worked together and that went well. I loved working with them because they got stuff done quickly. Even when we had hiccups, we always made it through. The project seems fun so, I am excited to see how this comes out. We are doing hopefully a Tyler the creator song, and I think it's pretty coo
