Group blog

 For this project, my group mates are Adrian Forbes, Nijah Sarduy, and Imani Hart. I chose these people as my group mates because they are my friends. Even though they are my friends, I also picked them because they are hard-working. We will be having fun, but we will also stay on task to get our work done. I think it's also easier to communicate because we already have each other's numbers. This will also help the video get done faster due to the multiple hands working on it. I also know these people won't stop working with us and will pick up their part. I enjoy talking and collaborating with these people in other subjects so I feel it would be the same for this project. We have worked together and that went well. I loved working with them because they got stuff done quickly. Even when we had hiccups, we always made it through. The project seems fun so, I am excited to see how this comes out. We are doing hopefully a Tyler the creator song, and I think it's pretty cool. We thought of many cool ideas that would flow. It's going to be hard to pick one idea. We might combine the ideas to satisfy everyone. I think it's going to be fun to do even though we haven't done anything like this before. I can't wait to get started on this project. We are going to work really hard for the best results!

  1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?  My friends and I chose to defy genre traditions for our music video. During the research process, I looked at various rap songs' music videos, specifically those by the same artist (Tyler, The Creator). Because Tyler, the Creator, is such a well-known artist, my initial assumption was that I could base our music video on his general themes. Tyler has a very unique way of producing music videos with surprising outfits and outlandish setups. For example, in the music video “See You Again” Tyler has a set on a naval ship and a small boat at sea, so the idea of trying to make our video similar to Tyler’s music videos was abandoned. Reviewer #1 The first reviewer praised the foreshadowing at the start of the sequence, when the kidnapper is visible in the distance behind Jasmine. She also enjoyed the scenario with the empty swing, which led to the kidnapping. However, she admitted that she didn't really get the concept of Jasmine's revenge in the last scene. I believe this is due to our decision not to have Imani hold a knife in that scenario for safety reasons. I don't think we'll solve it, but we'll compensate with voiceover.  Reviewer #2 The second reviewer said they enjoyed the entire movie. They did not suggest any specific improvements. However, they noted that the second part of the sequence appeared to be a little off. They said it was more unprofessional than the first.
