So, me and the group met up yesterday and we got so much done! We officially finalized everything. We did this on a random day, so we decided to meet at my house right after school. All of us were very late, unfortunately.  we all wanted to get food so we got Chick-fil-A. Kids are always there after school. We arrived at my house at about 1:30pm and one member got there about fifteen minutes later. We officially finished our script. We added that she would run into the street where as before, she was just going to start planning to get revenge. This would leave us with a huge gap in our opening sequence. We added a lot more voiceovers. We used my voice as the voiceover. I won't be seen in it but rather heard. At a moment, we did take a break. Me and Adrian did end up taking the lead. We planned to meet up but we ended up cancelling that. This was because we planned to hang out a lot later at night. That was due to us going to a school basketball game. That game was canceled, and ev

I am really excited to start this new project! This is my first time blogging about it. I can't wait to get into all the details. First, we had to decide what each person was doing, which was a little hard. This time we all have very important roles in the movie. Last time one of our members felt a little excluded and we had to figure that out. This time we did have enough roles to include everyone equally. We had made a day to start filming. We filmed at my house and it was really fun. Even though we had fun we still did what we needed to do. We got started late so we were in a time crunch. We did waste a little time by catching up and talking. Even though we didn't have lots of time we still did lots of work. We were really productive in the short time we had. We planned out half of our film at that time. We intended to finish everything, but that goal wasn't met. We set dates to start filming again and hopefully, they work out. In case those days don't work out we

Title Design

Image
The opening credits of my film will appear in a biotech font that appears to be “typed” into the Film sporadically.  ● Working Title: The title of this film is likely to be “Red Room” ● It will be Bold with biotech font and in all Caps:  SOMETHING ALONG THIS STYLE . ● Titles will all be “Typed” onto the screen. They will come on as being typed and fade in and out. ● Titles will disappear after 2 or 3 seconds. ● I will be using Black and Red Font with the titles in black and the name of who it's by in red. It will look something like this:  DIRECTED BY: John Doe ● The first and last name of the person who holds the job will be 2 sizes larger than the rest of the words.  For example:  DIRECTED BY : John Doe

Planning Blog: Location, Participants, Health, Schedule - During this project, our locations change multiple times throughout it. The main location for our scenes will be a park. Other locations will be at a house, and a car in empty parking lot. The limited locations allow our project to be more eerie and suspenseful. - The participants of our project include Callie; who is recording, Adrian; who plays as our kidnapper, Imani; as the girl who was kidnapped and comes back for revenge, and Nijah; who is recording and plays as the next victim after Imani. - Throughout our project, everything that can be seen as harmful is fake. Such as knifes, ropes, dragging scenes, and any malicious actions. To ensure the safety of our team, our parents purchased us a first aid kit to keep on hand. We also ensured that nothing harmful was held too close to our actors. - Recording our project, we have come together as a group to discuss our schedule. The first date will be 01/19, 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm. T

What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? The titles displayed were production company, who film was created by, actors, movie title, casting director, music by, casting by, editing by, production design by, director of photography, co-producers, co-executive producers, executive producers, written by, produced by, and directed by.  What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? There are multiple clips/images of a man making a notebook which is used as a foreshadowing for the movie such as sewing pages together, adding pictures in the notebook and writing in it.  How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the opening sequence?  The film has glitchy font giving a creepy or chilling feeling. The film also displays dark colors and lighting which represents a kind of mysterious atmosphere. The man exemplifies the thriller genre as well due to his hands and fingers looking very grimy and dirty, he also shaves his fingerprints off which is also unsettling.

Title Research: The Kingdom

Image
- What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? The opening sequences' titles include: production companies; actor names; casting by; music by; costume designer; editors; production designer; director of photography; executive producers; produced by; written by; directed by. - What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? The opening scene focuses primarily on figureheads, officials, and the progress markers/clips specifically surrounding oil which the movie uses as context for its plot. - How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the opening sequence? It immediately creates a tense environment with striking headlines, dark colors, and audio excerpts depicting the dark geopolitical climate surrounding almost a century of conflict-ridden oil. These first 4 minutes do an exceptional job of laying down the groundwork for The Kingdom's extensive plot and suspenseful atmosphere.

Title Research: Red Lights

Image
What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? The titles pop up on the screen which shows a bunch of letters and then shows the full title. The names and titles begin to turn sideways in a relatively small text, prioritizing imagery a bit more. They show next to the imagery, which I assume is done to have the focus on images rather than the words. Towards the end, the words break apart and disappear.  What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? They prioritized the blurred lights, and the different angles of the eye. They show images of people, a skull, and architecture. They go back with the burred lights but added a newspaper. A really small UFO, which they added a square around it, to show the importance of what we should be seeing. Then, they show an airplane landing.  How does the film establish a feeling of the genre? Since thriller and horror are similar, I would say it definitely establishes a feeling of thriller. It builds suspense with the imagery, it conf

Title research- Art of the Title Website

Image
The websites that we will be researching for our title design are very helpful and valuable to the project. The first website that we used for our title design was " Art of the Title". This website showcased popular, award-winning movies. It also provided different designers and studios with different movies under their names and allow people to go through each movie and view the title designs. It also provides credits, presenting the different names and their jobs designing the movie. It also provides the music and artist. This website is really beneficial to our group because it gives us a guideline on how to create our own title designs. Another website is "Watch the Titles". This website provides interviews of the designers who create the title designs. It provides different sections between featured films, student projects and more. This website provided our group block buster movies, and showed how to create an amazing title sequence.
