production blog: filming

 We started filming again! We were going to go to this park near the school. So we were shooting scenes on the swing and on the grass. We shot scenes in the on the swing with someone laughing. We also shot scenes outside on the grass with some of us laughing. I loved the scene where my friends are laughing on the grass. We actual did not end up liking the chick fil a scenes.  We felt like none of us looked really good in it. We just used park and car scenes. It made us a little sad. Even though we didn't use the place we planned, everything still worked out fine. We laughed and had fun. After we finished filming, we also hung out. We went to my house to hang out for a little again. We had lots of fun there too. We finished filming in about 2 hours. I thought filming would take longer. Since we had extra time that's why we decided to chill after. We finished all our filming. Even though everything didn't go as planned we still made it work. Hopefully, you love the music video!

  1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?  My friends and I chose to defy genre traditions for our music video. During the research process, I looked at various rap songs' music videos, specifically those by the same artist (Tyler, The Creator). Because Tyler, the Creator, is such a well-known artist, my initial assumption was that I could base our music video on his general themes. Tyler has a very unique way of producing music videos with surprising outfits and outlandish setups. For example, in the music video “See You Again” Tyler has a set on a naval ship and a small boat at sea, so the idea of trying to make our video similar to Tyler’s music videos was abandoned. Reviewer #1 The first reviewer praised the foreshadowing at the start of the sequence, when the kidnapper is visible in the distance behind Jasmine. She also enjoyed the scenario with the empty swing, which led to the kidnapping. However, she admitted that she didn't really get the concept of Jasmine's revenge in the last scene. I believe this is due to our decision not to have Imani hold a knife in that scenario for safety reasons. I don't think we'll solve it, but we'll compensate with voiceover.  Reviewer #2 The second reviewer said they enjoyed the entire movie. They did not suggest any specific improvements. However, they noted that the second part of the sequence appeared to be a little off. They said it was more unprofessional than the first.
