Filming Production blog

 We met up again! This time we were able to finish planning our film and have everything down pack. We did have a few complications with trying to schedule. This happened due to people trying to figure out if they are available or not. I sometimes have to redirect the group to remind them this is not just a grade but, is our exam. They tighten up and start to remember the goal and we end up getting stuff done. We did film recently and got the about 1/4 of the project done. I liked how it came out. I felt we did it in a timely manner. I shot the from different angles and positions. I even filmed some audio for the video to enhance the video. Everyone was very cooperative and did their job. We had some of our actor's improv some scene and they looked pretty good. I'm glad that they added improv because it helps the film look better. After we finished filming, we went out to eat. We enjoyed our food and ate well. It's nice to work with people you can hang out with. While were out to eat one of our members were on a time crunch because they had to be home soon. We left a little bit earlier due to that. Overall, it went very well.

  1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?  My friends and I chose to defy genre traditions for our music video. During the research process, I looked at various rap songs' music videos, specifically those by the same artist (Tyler, The Creator). Because Tyler, the Creator, is such a well-known artist, my initial assumption was that I could base our music video on his general themes. Tyler has a very unique way of producing music videos with surprising outfits and outlandish setups. For example, in the music video “See You Again” Tyler has a set on a naval ship and a small boat at sea, so the idea of trying to make our video similar to Tyler’s music videos was abandoned. Reviewer #1 The first reviewer praised the foreshadowing at the start of the sequence, when the kidnapper is visible in the distance behind Jasmine. She also enjoyed the scenario with the empty swing, which led to the kidnapping. However, she admitted that she didn't really get the concept of Jasmine's revenge in the last scene. I believe this is due to our decision not to have Imani hold a knife in that scenario for safety reasons. I don't think we'll solve it, but we'll compensate with voiceover.  Reviewer #2 The second reviewer said they enjoyed the entire movie. They did not suggest any specific improvements. However, they noted that the second part of the sequence appeared to be a little off. They said it was more unprofessional than the first. Reviewer #3 The third critic stated that they loved the actors' facial expressions. They did express a desire to hear additional diegetic sound throughout the sequence to break up the music played.
