  In my second year of A-Level, I’ve changed some of my group members. I’m continuing to work with Nijah Sarduy, who was part of my team in AS Level. I already know that Nijah is consistent and hardworking, so I’m confident that working with her this year will be smooth. She was an excellent director in our previous project, and I believe in her abilities because we’ve worked well together before. I’m sure we’ll get everything done without any issues. Nijah is very reliable, and I trust her judgment in any task we take on together.

My new teammates are Janiah Charles and Natalie Obando. I’m confident both of them will work hard. Janiah received the same grade as I did last year, a C, but I know she really tried and succeeded. I was impressed by her film from AS Level. The camera angles, editing, props, and location were all well thought out, and it showed that she cares about her work. Her film was engaging, and it clearly showed her dedication and attention to detail. I feel confident that she will contribute positively to our team.

Natalie Obando is someone who was also in AS Level last year, but I haven’t seen much of her work yet. I’m hopeful that she’ll be a good addition to our team, as we need everyone to stay dedicated. I know Natalie outside of the course, and I’m confident that she cares about her work. She is driven and always puts in effort, so I believe she’ll bring the same level of dedication as the rest of us. It’s important that everyone on the team is committed and focused, and I think Natalie will fit in well. I believe she has the potential to add value to our project. I look forward to seeing her contribute and bring her skills to the table.

With Nijah, Janiah, and Natalie, I think we have a strong team. I’m excited about the potential for us to create something amazing together. I’m confident in their abilities, and I know we will be able to work well together. This collaboration will be great, and I’m eager to see the results of our combined efforts. I trust that we’ll make an excellent project and enjoy the process along the way.

  1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?  My friends and I chose to defy genre traditions for our music video. During the research process, I looked at various rap songs' music videos, specifically those by the same artist (Tyler, The Creator). Because Tyler, the Creator, is such a well-known artist, my initial assumption was that I could base our music video on his general themes. Tyler has a very unique way of producing music videos with surprising outfits and outlandish setups. For example, in the music video “See You Again” Tyler has a set on a naval ship and a small boat at sea, so the idea of trying to make our video similar to Tyler’s music videos was abandoned. Reviewer #1 The first reviewer praised the foreshadowing at the start of the sequence, when the kidnapper is visible in the distance behind Jasmine. She also enjoyed the scenario with the empty swing, which led to the kidnapping. However, she admitted that she didn't really get the concept of Jasmine's revenge in the last scene. I believe this is due to our decision not to have Imani hold a knife in that scenario for safety reasons. I don't think we'll solve it, but we'll compensate with voiceover.  Reviewer #2 The second reviewer said they enjoyed the entire movie. They did not suggest any specific improvements. However, they noted that the second part of the sequence appeared to be a little off. They said it was more unprofessional than the first.
