  For the editing of this project, Nijah is in charge. All the group members shared their ideas about how they want the film to look. Nijah hopes she can bring all these ideas to life and make the perfect thriller/horror film. The shots taken during filming were great for editing and creating smooth transitions between scenes. While filming, the group also recorded diegetic sounds to add to the eerie atmosphere. Some of these sounds included a creaking door and a loud bang on the floor. These small details help make the film feel more realistic and intense. The group discussed the overall mood they wanted, and Nijah is determined to make it happen. She carefully selected each shot to keep the pacing intense and suspenseful. The goal was to make every scene flow smoothly while keeping the audience on edge.   Hey everyone, welcome back to the blog! Filmmaking is all about planning, but sometimes things don’t go as expected, and you just have to roll with it. One of the biggest challenges we faced during production was scheduling—everyone’s availability was all over the place, and we realized we only had one full day where the entire cast and crew could be together. That meant we had to film almost the entire movie in one day. At first, it seemed impossible, but instead of stressing, we got organized and made a game plan. We mapped out the most efficient way to shoot each scene, making sure we weren’t wasting any time moving between locations. It was a long day, but we kept the energy up and worked as a team to keep things moving. There were definitely moments when we felt rushed, but we stayed focused and made sure every scene was done right.   Hey everyone, welcome back to the blog! Making a short film in high school is already a challenge, but when you’re on a tight deadline and people start dropping out, things get even harder. Our original script had more characters, but two of our actors couldn’t make it to the shoot, and we didn’t have time to find replacements. At first, it felt like everything was falling apart because those characters played important roles. Instead of panicking, we had to think fast and adjust the script to work with a smaller cast. We figured out which parts of their roles were necessary and found ways to merge them into the remaining characters. This actually helped us make the story more focused and cut out anything unnecessary. With fewer characters to manage, filming became a lot easier, and scheduling wasn’t as stressful. We also realized that having a smaller cast allowed for better performances since we could spend more time on each scene. The changes made the film stronger, even thou...

    Today, while filming, we had to take many breaks and redo several scenes. This was mostly because of our personalities and how we interacted  with each other. While working together, I noticed that we made a lot of jokes and had trouble staying serious. Even though we had to do multiple takes, we still found time to give each other suggestions. We also corrected our mistakes to make sure the scenes looked better. In our final scenes, we had to redo some shots multiple times. This was because we kept breaking character and laughing. There were moments when we completely gave up on keeping a straight face. After editing, you might even catch a glimpse of one of us looking away to smile or laugh. However, I think this will make the scenes feel more natural. It adds to the fun, giggly vibe that happens during real group hangouts. For our film, we carefully chose the best location and decided to use my house. We had several discussions about where to film, considering everyone's living situation. Since we all attend Fort Lauderdale High School, we wanted a location that was close to the school. This would make it easier for everyone to get there on time and avoid long travel times. At first, we ruled out my house because Nijah lives in Hollywood, which is farther from the school. Then, we considered using Natalie or Janiah’s houses. However, Natalie lives in Plantation, and Janiah lives in Pompano. Both of these locations would have been inconvenient for our group. Because of this, we had to eliminate those options. After ruling out other locations, we looked at my house again. It was the closest to the school, making it the most practical choice.   Hello, bloggers! Today, I’m going to talk about the necessary props and dress code we used for filming. Before we started filming, we often had to move objects around to make the scene look better. We were lucky to have a wide-open space to film in, which was my living room. There were already blankets scattered around, which helped us set up the scenes more easily. One important part of our film was making sure we were dressed correctly. Since the setting was a slumber party, we needed to wear pajamas. Most of us brought our pajamas to school and changed before we started filming. We didn’t have any specific color requirements for our outfits. This helped everything look more natural and realistic. We want to start filming as soon as possible, but we’ve had trouble finding a day when everyone is available. Some of us have work, school, or other responsibilities that make it hard to meet at the same time. At first, we thought we had finally found the perfect days to film. But then we realized that Natalie will be out of town during our main filming days. Since she is an important part of our group, we had to adjust our schedule. To solve this, we decided to move our filming to an earlier date. The new filming day is right after school, which might make things a little harder. Since it’s a school night, we won’t have much time before we need to stop. This could mean we won’t finish as much as we originally planned. Many of us have after-school jobs or participate in various activities, so scheduling has been a key part of our planning process. To make things more manageable, we decided to set our working days for Wednesdays and Sundays, ensuring that everyone has time to contribute without overwhelming their personal commitments. One of our first major group discussions revolved around choosing the perfect title for our short film. We wanted something that was both creative and memorable while keeping it short and intriguing.   PLANNING BLOG; Title Design  The opening credits of the film will appear in a eerie font, “typed” into the Film sporadically.      •    The title of the short film will be "Slumber's End"     •    It will be all bold, the font being called "Dark Mystic".     •    Titles will fade-in and fade-out to give a suspenseful feeling.     •    Titles will disappear after 2 or 3 seconds.     •    Black font will be used for both the titles and the name of each person and their role in the film.    Schedule: Majority of our time spent filming will be afterschool, or on the weekends.  Location: The location of our filming will be at  my house, due to our project being centered around a sleepover.  Participants: Within our film, everyone will be in the film, however each of us will be taking turns filming each other, and to get a shot with all of us in it, we will either have a friend record it for us or use a tripod to capture our scene. Nijah will be editing and acting, I will be recording and acting, Natalie will direct and act, and Janiah will record and act.  Health & Safety: Within our film, we will be in a safe location, inside a teammates house with adults. Throughout our project, everything that can be seen as harmful is fake. Such as knifes, and any malicious actions.
